UPDATED: ACPS will close Monday as snowfall continues

Alexandria City Public Schools has announced it will be closed tomorrow (Monday), following previous plans to open with a two-hour delay.

All schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, with students participating in synchronous learning and staff following a virtual workday. ACPS announced the decision around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, adjusting from the previously planned two-hour delay.

Alexandria and the region remain under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service until 10 a.m. tomorrow. NWS expects the area to see snow accumulation from 2 to 4 inches overnight, with a chance of snow and possible rain after 1 p.m. tomorrow. Wind gusts could reach up to 39 mph, with a 40% chance of precipitation during the day tomorrow, according to the forecast.
