An unattended Amazon delivery truck that was stolen from Duke Street in Landmark on Tuesday night was later recovered in a nearby parking lot.
The truck was reported stolen to the Alexandria Police Department just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at the 5200 block of Duke Street, APD spokesperson Tracy Walker told ALXnow. Shortly after, police recovered the vehicle less than a mile away in a parking lot at the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway.
The truck had reportedly been left unattended with the keys inside before it was stolen, according to APD.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. The full incident description from APD is available, below.
At approximately 9:04 PM last night, Alexandria Police responded to the Halal Market in the 5200 block of Duke Street, for the report of an Amazon delivery truck being stolen. Upon arrival, APD officers determined the vehicle had been left unattended with the keys left in the vehicle. Approximately 25 minutes later, the vehicle was located in the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway in a parking lot. This incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
