New ‘Finn and Fire’ seafood and steak restaurant aims for March opening in Old Town

Finn & Fire, a new international restaurant specializing in seafood and steaks, hopes to debut in Old Town in late winter.

The new eatery is preparing to replace Indian restaurant Kismet at 111 N. Pitt Street sometime in March, owner Ghazal Amir told ALXnow. The business previously hoped for a January opening but is still securing its permits.

While Finn & Fire is still underway, Amir, who also owns Crab Cab Bar and Kitchen in Fairfax County, said the “contemporary upscale fusion” restaurant will offer sushi, steaks and an oyster bar.

The menu by Chef Aaron Gadson will be “defined by two culinary pillars,” Amir said.

“Fin, showcasing impeccably sourced seafood prepared with global refinement — including a curated sushi experience and a dedicated oyster bar — and Fire, featuring masterfully char-grilled meats infused with international flavors, with a focus on premium steaks and rare cuts,” Amir wrote in a message to ALXnow.

In addition to directing Finn and Fire’s kitchen, Gadson is the founder of local catering and meal delivery company The Culture Gourmet.

The new establishment hopes to offer an atmosphere “inspired by the effortless luxury of Miami and the earthy elegance of Tulum,” Amir added.

Kismet closed in June following nearly four years of business in Old Town.
