Kismet Modern Indian closing Old Town location

Kismet Modern Indian will close its Old Town Alexandria restaurant (111 North Pitt Street) on June 1.

Continued market pressures have driven the decision to close the restaurant, which opened in Fall 2021.

“This is a bittersweet decision,” said Sachin Mahajan, Owner/Operator of Kismet Modern Indian in a statement provided to ALXnow. “Old Town has been an incredibly welcoming and vibrant community. We are deeply grateful to our guests, neighbors, and partners for their support and connection over the years.”

While this location is closing, Kismet Modern Indian isn’t ruling out future opportunities in the area.

“Its commitment to Old Town Alexandria and the broader Northern Virginia region remains steadfast, and while this chapter is ending, the team is open to opportunities to return to the area in the future”, a press release from the restaurant states.

The last day of service at their Old Town location will be May 31.

Fans of the restaurant can still visit the Richmond, Va., location or check out sister restaurants Karma Modern Indian and the new Karizma in downtown Washington, D.C.
