Old Town Farmers’ Market will relocate in January amid City Hall renovations

The Old Town Farmers’ Market is relocating across the street from Market Square in January to accommodate upcoming renovations at City Hall.

The market is relocating just steps away at the 100 block of N. Royal Street and the courtyard at Tavern Square. The move will begin on an unannounced date in January and last throughout two to three years of City Hall construction.

“The space is big enough to host all current Farmers’ Market vendors, with plenty of room for shoppers to move comfortably,” the city wrote in an announcement. “The Market Square Garage will also be closed during construction, and the new location provides easier access to nearby parking options.”

The market’s hours will remain 7 a.m. to noon every Saturday morning, rain or shine. It will continue to offer more than 70 vendors.

The Old Town Farmers’ Market has operated at Market Square since 1753 and intends to return to its original home once renovations are complete. Further information is available on the market’s city webpage.
