Alexandria City Manager to participate in virtual town hall meeting next week

Alexandria City Manager Jim Parajon will take questions from residents during a virtual town hall meeting next week hosted by a local civic organization.

The Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria is hosting the event on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 6-7 p.m. via Zoom. The forum is part of the organization’s community engagement series, which aims to keep residents informed about city issues.

Parajon, who has served as city manager since 2021, oversees Alexandria’s day-to-day operations and implements policies set by the City Council. The town hall format will allow residents to engage directly with the city’s top administrator.

The meeting is open to the public. Participants can join via Zoom using meeting ID 981 6014 1953 and passcode zT0CcM.

The Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria is a nonprofit organization that advocates for education, health, and social justice. According to its website, it was founded in 2009 following a Washington Post report that identified T.C. Williams High School as one of Virginia’s lowest-performing schools.

The organization runs programs, including Reach & Rise for Excellence, and hosts parent engagement events and community forums. It works with schools, parents, students, and families throughout Alexandria.
