Woman charged with using West End hotel room for prostitution

Alexandria police have charged a 26-year-old woman with using a West End hotel room for prostitution.

The woman was arrested Aug. 13 and charged with residing in a bawdy place after police observed multiple men entering and leaving her room at the Days Inn, 110 S. Bragg St., according to a search warrant affidavit. The woman was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 11.

Police began investigating after receiving a complaint. A hotel employee confirmed the woman had booked the room for one night only. One man who left the room after about five minutes told police he had ‘made an appointment for sexual acts in exchange for money,’ the affidavit states. He directed officers to an active escort website with a Houston phone number that featured nude photos and advertised sexual services.

Keeping, residing in, or frequenting a bawdy place is a Class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and/or a $2,500 fine.

ALXnow has reached out to APD on whether anyone else was charged in connection with this case.
