Penny Post, an independent stationery store in Alexandria, will celebrate Stationery Store Day on Saturday with special promotions and community activities.
The shop at 1201 King St. will offer exclusive swag bags worth more than $50 to the first 100 customers who spend $50 or more, starting at 10 a.m. The bags will contain premium paper goods and additional surprises.
Owner Amy Rutherford said the event represents “everything we love about our community of paper lovers.”
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the joy of beautiful paper goods and the special connections they help create,” Rutherford said. “This event is our way of thanking our loyal customers while introducing new visitors to the wonderful analog world of stationery.”
The celebration will feature all-day raffles with multiple prize opportunities. Complimentary cold beverages and snacks will be provided for early morning shoppers.
Customers planning to attend should note that the line will form at the corner of Fayette Street and King Street, with entry permitted as space allows.
Penny Post has operated in Alexandria since 2017, specializing in notebooks, pens, greeting cards, and specialty paper products. The store also owns Red Barn Mercantile and Pippin Toy Co.
