Imagine Artwear is closing at 1124 King Street on Monday (June 30), and soon after, their “KiSMET Mural: Love is All You Need” painting on the outside of the building will be removed.
Owner Carol Supplee says that there are still many good pieces available at bargain prices. She also noted that there are custom-made store fixtures and a lot of “free stuff” for the taking.
KiSMET stands for the former King Street Metro Enterprise Team.
Supplee was hoping that the mural would stay up for a few years. It was painted in 2020 by Len Garon and featured Supplee and her dog, Hobbes, as well as KiSMET founder Nina Tisara.

Supplee is closing the store to focus on her health. The store opened in 1988 as Fiber Designs, and Supplee bought it in 1992. She plans to write her memoirs on Imagine Artwear’s blog in the days ahead.
In the meantime, the space has been leased to a new tenant, Interior Instincts. The Mediterranean decor business, owned by Shireen Alhasawi, was established in April.
ALXnow has reached out to Interior Instincts on their plans for the space.
