A 28-year-old D.C. resident faces multiple charges after allegedly eluding the Alexandria Police Department in the city’s West End.

The man was arrested on January 13 for reckless driving and disregarding a police command to stop during an attempted traffic stop near the 200 block of S. Van Dorn Street on the evening of Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.

Police attempted to pull over the suspect in his gray Mustang near the 200 block of S. Van Dorn Street, but the suspect allegedly ran a red light, drove on the wrong side of the road and nearly hit multiple vehicles, and “fled at a high rate of speed,” according to the search warrant affidavit.

Police then discovered that the suspect had been identified as fleeing the Seat Pleasant Police Department twice the previous month. In Seat Pleasant, he was charged with eluding police, obstructing traffic, and driving with expired tags.

The suspect was released the same day he was arrested on a $1,500 unsecured bond and goes to court on April 11.
