You need to know

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s biggest animal adoption event, Paws in the Park, will return next month.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Oronoco Bay Park (100 Madison Street). Paws in the Park, formerly Alexandria Love Your Pet Day, features live music, activities, food and drink, shopping and adoptable animals.
The free event is open to the community and well-behaved leashed pets are welcome to attend (AWLA asks that pet owners not bring flexi-leashes/retractable leashes)
According to the event page:
Paws in the Park celebrates the love our community has for animals, with a whole lot of fun on the side. Thousands have enjoyed this event in its previous iterations, and this year promises to be the biggest and most exciting festival yet.
Paws in the Park benefits the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and its mission to inspire compassion for all living things, to provide shelter to animals in need, and to promote adoptions, animal welfare and responsible pet ownerships in our community.
