Alexandria is currently under an Areal Flood Watch and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
The Areal Flood Watch is in effect until midnight tonight and warns of possible flash flooding in areas near rivers or other low-lying locations.
Storms tonight may pack hail, damaging winds and frequent lightning, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue tonight until around 2 a.m., at which point it could taper off. There is also a chance for thunderstorms to continue tomorrow afternoon and evening.
