The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced that they arrested a man in connection to a series of five burglaries of businesses in Mount Vernon Plaza (7600 Richmond Highway) in Hybla Valley.

Police responded to a burglary in-progress when someone from one of the stores was monitoring inner office video footage and told police that the suspect was still inside the store, according to FCPD. Police arrived at the store and arrested the suspect, who had stolen items in his possession.

“Preliminarily, detectives from our Criminal Investigation Division have determined that [the suspect] entered the building through an unlocked roof fire hatch,” FCPD said in a release. “He proceeded to burglarize five businesses located within the plaza.”
