JUST IN: Police investigating bank robbery in Old Town North

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is responding to a bank robbery at the PNC Bank (825 N Washington Street) in Old Town North.

A man walked into the bank sometime after 11 a.m. and handed the teller a note with a bomb threat, according to scanner traffic.

The man left the bank on foot with $2,000. Police are currently combing the area and the right lane of N Washington Street was closed at noon. APD told ALXnow the investigation is still underway.
