While it’s a favorite hobby of locals to grumble about the Metro, a new poll from the Washington Post-Schar School found that 77% of regular and occasional Metro riders rated the system as “excellent” or “good.”
The poll randomly sampled 1,333 Metro riders in the area.
Ratings from the annual poll have been on the ride over the years from a low of 45% approval in 2017. This year’s 77% is an up tick from 75% positive ratings last year.
The poll found that three-quarters of riders surveyed said they found Metro service reliably and provide a good value.
While overall opinions of Metro were high, a notable outlier was “safety from crime” which found 57% ranked good or excellent while 37% ranked it not so good or poor.
