The long-troubled Yates Pizza Palace space at 3006 Duke Street, which has been “opening soon” since before ALXnow existed, is back on the market.

Plans for the location were briefly revived in 2021 as a possible ghost kitchen, but the kitchen never opened. Now, Alexandria Living Magazine reported that the property is back on the market.

The location was once a pasta restaurant called Generous George’s until it closed in 2009. Jeffrey Yates Sr., owner of Yates Car Wash and purchaser of Table Talk, bought the property and planned to open a pizza restaurant, but Yates died in 2018 and the plans fell apart afterward.
