This week, our Just Listed property features this gorgeous Del Ray home that just hit the market! This home has it all! We will be featuring a Virtual Open House this Saturday, October 3 on our Instagram!
Gorgeous, bright and expanded 4 bed/3 bath Del Ray home! Just two blocks from “The Avenue” and a short walk to the Metro, this fabulous home welcomes you with its fabulous front porch.
The main level features a study, formal living room, dining room and gorgeous family room with cathedral ceilings and a fireplace. The kitchen has great space for meal prep and has a breakfast bar for everyday living. Rounding out the main level are two bedrooms and a full bathroom.
Upstairs you will find a huge primary bedroom with dual closets. A large bathroom, laundry room, a fourth bedroom and a loft overlooking the great room are also found on this level. Just off the rear of the home is a screened porch — perfect for outdoor social distancing or entertaining.
Not currently accessible from the main home, the finished basement has a separate, private entrance and has been used as a rental property. This space includes a living/dining/kitchenette combo, private bedroom and bath, and separate laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. Plans have been done to access this level to the main home — making this home everything you need — and more! The location, flow and size make this a home you don’t want to miss! Welcome home!

If you had a chance to enhance a child’s future with a time commitment of less than 2 hours a week, how would you respond? You have that opportunity right now to join over 200 Alexandrians as a reading tutor volunteer with the Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC).
ATC tutors work with one child in kindergarten, first, or second grade in Alexandria public schools who need extra help with reading. Tutors meet with their Book Buddy 1-2 times each week for 30 minutes October-May at school, during school hours. Many struggling readers only receive one-on-one instruction through this program, and it makes all the difference. Last year, ATC served 195 children, of whom 82% ended the year reading on grade level and 96% made substantial reading gains. But the need is great, and we are still seeing learning lags from the pandemic.
This year, ATC plans to significantly increase the size of the program to reach over 250 students and to serve every elementary school in Alexandria. This is very exciting news, but we will only succeed if we can recruit more tutors. ATC trains you, matches you with a child, and provides ongoing lesson materials and support.
