Police Investigate Early Morning Gunfire in Old Town

Alexandria Police are investigating a report of gunfire in Old Town just after midnight on Tuesday, September 22.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Cook Street after a single shot was reported to police at around 12:15 a.m. There were no reported injuries and police did not find anything hit. No arrest was made.

The incident occurred is less than a mile from where a suspect was arrested in connection with another Old Town shooting earlier this month. Cook Street sits between N. Pitt and N. Royal Streets and is three blocks away from Founders Park on the Alexandria waterfront.

The area is also one block away from where a violent carjacking occurred on July 14.
