Much of the D.C. region, including Alexandria, will be under a Wind Advisory starting tonight.
Strong winds with gusts up to 50 mph are expected to start whipping up Wednesday night and will continue through Thursday afternoon, making for a blustery Thanksgiving holiday.
Forecasters caution that the wind gusts could topple trees and power lines, causing widespread power outages. Drivers should also take caution.
