Beyer Introduces Pandemic Response Accountability Legislation — “Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) today introduced the Supply Chain Accountability Act, legislation that would require the Administration to explain its strategy for fixing key breakdowns in the pandemic response. Alexandrian Killed in D.C. Shooting — “Metropolitan Police identified Montrell Lucas, 18, of Alexandria, as one of two victims who were killed Tuesday night. Police responded to the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue Northeast around 8:46 p.m. for a report of a shooting and found three victims.” [Patch]

Flood Warning Issued for Alexandria

Flood concerns earlier this week connected with Tropical Storm Isaias ended up being a wash, but there’s a new round of flood warnings related to ongoing storms in Alexandria.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the City of Alexandria and some surrounding localities in effect until 8:45 p.m.

Virginia Launches Coronavirus Tracing App — “Virginia is the first state in the nation to launch such an app. It is based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology jointly developed by Apple and Google (Android). Users can download the app from their mobile phone’s app store now. Tropical Storm Isaias Brings Flood Warning for Alexandria and Surrounding Localities

The weather is expected to make a dramatic turn over the next few hours.

After some early preparation last night by the Alexandria Fire Department and other city agencies, yesterday’s Flood Watch has been upgraded by the National Weather Service to a Flood Warning for Alexandria and surrounding localities.
