A longtime boutique in Old Town is getting ready to spread some wintery holiday cheer in the week following Halloween.
Red Barn Mercantile is hosting its annual Holiday Unveiling at 6 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at 1117 King Street. The festive gathering will reveal a “winter wonderland” of new holiday decorations and gifts at the boutique, along with complimentary treats and party favors.
Red Barn Mercantile, located at 1117 King Street in Alexandria, is partnering with Two Men and a Truck to collect gently used homecoming and wedding guest dresses and shoes through the end of August.
The initiative aims to help young adults who may not be able to afford clothing for special events by creating a free boutique in a warehouse where they can shop for formal wear.
Seven Old Town Alexandria boutiques are joining forces for a first-ever group fundraiser to support The Center for Alexandria’s Children from June 14 to 29.
The participating stores – 529 Kids Consign, Monday’s Child, Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop, Old Town Books Jr., Penny Post, Pippin Toy Co., and Red Barn Mercantile – are working together to raise funds and collect donations for the Center’s mission to end child abuse.
