A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was attacked by group of men in Arlandria on Monday morning, according to police.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of W. Glebe Road and Mount Vernon Avenue on Monday at around 2:30 a.m.
The man suffered lacerations to his head and told police that he was attacked by three males.

A 28-year-old Woodbridge man is being held without bond for allegedly cutting a man with a knife in the West End on Sunday morning, Jan. 15.
The incident occurred just after midnight in the 1400 block of N. Beauregard Street, near the William Ramsay Recreation Center. The 45-year-old victim was cut with a sharp object and treated at the scene, police told ALXnow.
The suspect, Mateo Amaya, knows the victim and was arrested that day and charged with malicious wounding, according to police.
“A weapon was recovered (in connection to the incident),” Alexandria Police Department spokesperson Marcel Bassett told ALXnow. “Nothing was reported stolen.”
Amaya goes to court for the offense on February 17.

Alexandria Police are investigating a person of interest after Sunday night’s shooting near Holmes Run put a man in the hospital with multiple injuries.
The incident occurred at around 6 p.m. near an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Duke Street, according to police. A 22-year-old man was shot and suffered “multiple injuries” and is expected to recover.
“APD is currently investigating a person(s) of interest in relations to this incident,” Alexandria Police spokesman Marcel Bassett said.
No other information was released. Shortly after the incident, APD tweeted that it believed there was “no current threat to the public.”

A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Old Town North early last Sunday night (Dec. 18).
The 56-year-old female victim was transported to the hospital after getting hit at around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Pendleton Street and N. Pitt Street.
The driver stayed at the scene and was charged with failure to pay full time attention.
The incident occurred less than a mile from where a pedestrian was struck in the 100 block of N. Henry Street on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
More details have emerged in the August 27 shooting in the Braddock area that resulted left a woman injured and a man behind bars.
At around 8:30 p.m., a 38-year-old woman was shot in the foot in an alley in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street. Police say the woman was an innocent bystander.
Tykeece Simms, 21, an Alexandria resident, was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Police arrested Simms less than a mile away on the front porch of his home.
“Mr. Sims initially admitted to being at the scene of the incident but denied involvement in the shooting,” police said in a search warrant affidavit. “He stated that he ran from the scene becaus he heard gunshots. After further questioning, Mr. Simms admitted to being the shooter.”
Simms told police that he’d gotten into an argument with a man at a nearby deli, and that the man threatened his life, according to the search warrant affidavit.
“Mr. Simms state that he was in fear for his life, and felt it was necessary to shoot the gun to protect himself,” police said in the search warrant affidavit. “It should be noted that Mr. Simms smelled like alcohol and admitted to being intoxicated.”
Simms, who was not arrested with a gun, also allegedly told police that he was a convicted felon and felt it necessary to carry one for safety. No gun was recovered in the search of his home, but police found magazines and boxes with hollow-point 9mm ammunition, 9 mm handgun magazines and a soft case for a handgun.
Simms goes to court on October 5.
Updated at 4 p.m. A 29-year-old man was seriously injured after being shot in the Braddock area on Thursday night.
Police responded to the incident in the 700 block of North Fayette Street at 12:36 a.m., and it was reported by Alexandria Police via Twitter at 1:23 a.m.
The victim was shot outdoors, according to police.
A resident who lives in the area said that she heard five gunshots.
“I ran to my child’s room to get her onto the floor and off her bed that is directly next to a window,” the resident said. “Today we will be rearranging her bedroom.”
Police tweeted that there was a heavy police presence due to the incident, which occurred near Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority property.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation, police said.

A 16-year-old male was beaten up and robbed by a gang of five teenagers in the Bradlee Shopping Center on (Thursday) April 28, according to Alexandria Police.
The victim was jumped and robbed of cash by a gang of five male juveniles. The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. as the victim walked on the sidewalk between 3672 and 3676 King Street in the shopping center, according to police.
“Money was taken from the victim, but due to a witness intervening the money was recovered at the scene,” Alexandria Police spokesman Marcel Bassett said.
The incident follows the September 21, 2021, shooting of a juvenile at a nearby McDonald’s, which is a short distance from Alexandria City High School. A juvenile was arrested at the restaurant a month later after a fight where a man was injured.
No arrests have been made, and the relationship between the victim and suspects is uncertain, police said.

Alexandria Police are investigating a road rage incident where a female driver pepper allegedly assaulted two people in the 2800 block of Park Center Drive with pepper spray.
The incident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. The 28-year-old male victim and 49-year-old female victim were sprayed in the face and declined to go to the hospital.
Police say the suspect is a female in her 20s and that people of interest are being interviewed.

An adult male was injured and a juvenile arrested last week after a fight at the McDonald’s at the Bradlee Shopping Center.
The incident occurred at around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5. The victim was treated for injuries at the scene.
“A juvenile suspect was taken into custody,” APD Senior Public Information Officer Amanda Paga told ALXnow. “Officers are still looking for several other suspects. It remains an active investigation.”
The incident follows the September 21 shooting of a juvenile at that same McDonald’s, which is a short distance from Alexandria City High School.
A 23-year-old Fairfax County man wounded after a shooting in a West End apartment complex is being held without bond in the Alexandria jail for being a violent felon in possession of a firearm.
Antwain Lee Williams was arrested on Tuesday, September 21, after being driven to Inova Alexandria Hospital by a neighbor. He was alert with police and claimed that he was shot in the head.
It is still not clear exactly how Williams was injured, police said. No one else has been arrested in connection to this incident.
“This remains an active investigation,” APD Senior Public Information Officer Amanda Paga told ALXnow.
The incident occurred at around 1 p.m., just in time for police to arrive and hear two men arguing before there were gunshots inside the apartment complex, according to a search warrant. Inside a first floor apartment where Williams was staying, police found blood, a black firearm, three bullet casings and a broken window.
Police suspect that Williams, who goes to court on October 25, fired a weapon.
When asked at the hospital who shot him, Williams told police that an unknown male walked up to him and shot him point blank in the head.
The incident occurred five years to the day that Williams was arrested for shooting a man in Pittsylvania County.
