(Updated at 5:15 p.m.) A West End man was arrested and charged with a parole violation, on Sunday (Nov. 13).
The 44-year-old man, a violent felon, was arrested after an incident at around 1 p.m. in an apartment in the 6300 block of Stevenson Avenue in the Landmark area. An allegation of sexual assault against the suspect is ongoing, according to police.
The adult female victim did not go to the hospital, and reported that no weapon was used.
The man posted a $1,000 bond the next day (Nov. 14).

Art lovers can get their fix by volunteering as gallery guides at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and sports enthusiasts can become volunteer sport coaches. The Carlyle House also needs a volunteer tour guide.
There are also a number of tutoring and mentoring positions available, in addition to available food distributor and donation sorting positions.
“We need hundreds of people per week,” Volunteer Alexandria Executive Director Marion Brunken told ALXnow. “More people are in need now than ever.”

A 29-year-old Arlington man faces a jury trial next month for allegedly robbing and assaulting his disabled ex-girlfriend in her West End apartment.
The suspect has been held without bond in the Alexandria jail since his arrest on February 8.
On February 1, a week before his arrest, the suspect allegedly forced his way into the woman’s apartment and removed her from her wheelchair, according to a search warrant affidavit. The incident occurred in an apartment in the Assembly Alexandria apartment complex in the 200 block of Century Place — the same apartment complex where two men were recently shot to death.
“(The suspect) forced his way into (the victim’s) apartment and then physically removed her from her wheelchair before continuing further inside the apartment,” police reported in a search warrant affidavit.
The suspect allegedly took:
- The victim’s phone
- A laptop
- Credit cards
- Cash
- An iPad
The suspect then allegedly withdrew $405.20 from an ATM with the victim’s debit card.
On February 8, Alexandria Police found out that the suspect was riding a DASH bus on a West End route — not far from where the incident occurred. Police stopped the bus at Landmark Mall, and arrested him.
The suspect goes to a jury trial on August 30 (Monday) and faces charges including abduction, statutory burglary, grand larceny and assault and battery.

A woman was injured and an Alexandria man faces multiple charges after an violent domestic dispute in Old Town, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
APD was alerted of people fighting in an apartment in the 1400 block of Princess Street in Old Town at around 3:30 on May 3 (Monday). A 33-year-old female victim suffered a non-life threatening injury after being struck and was transported to the hospital, APD told ALXnow.
The 30-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after midnight on May 3 (Tuesday) and released that same day.
The suspect was charged with malicious wounding, domestic assault and battery, destruction of property worth less than $1,000, resisting arrest and intentionally damaging a phone line to prevent the summoning of law enforcement.
The malicious wounding charge is a felony, which carries the minimum penalty of five years in prison. The remaining charges are misdemeanors, each punishable by up to a year in jail and $2,500 fine.
The suspect goes to court on May 13.

A 34-year-old Alexandria man was arrested for a domestic dispute with a woman on the evening of April 11 (Monday) in the city’s North Ridge neighborhood, and was charged with strangulation, assault and battery and public intoxication.
The incident occurred outside in the 1400 block of Dogwood Drive, and the 26-year-old female victim was injured and did not immediately seek medical attention after the incident, according to police.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and was released on recognizance. He goes to court for the offenses on May 20.

A Fairfax County man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly punching and slapping his girlfriend and pointing a gun at her head.
The incident occurred on Jan. 30 in the woman’s apartment in the 100 block of Century Drive in the Landmark area. The victim called police and said that her boyfriend, Milek Pittman, punched her in the face and pointed a gun at her head after an argument erupted, according to a search warrant affidavit. Pittman also allegedly damaged a door of the apartment by punching and kicking it.
Police tried unsuccessfully to contact Pittman over phone throughout the month of February. On February 27, real-time data revealed that Pittman was consistently in the area of his girlfriend’s apartment, and he was arrested by police at the apartment on March 1.
Pittman was charged with domestic assault and battery, property destruction and brandishing a firearm. He was released on a $1,500 secured bond on the day of his arrest, and goes to court for the offenses on April 1.
A 43-year Loudoun County man was arrested last month for allegedly pushing his girlfriend and causing her fracture her elbow.
After being wanted for outstanding warrants for more than a month, Thomas Abernathy was arrested on Jan. 20 and charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery. He was released that same day on $1,500 and $500 bonds.
The victim called police on Dec. 10, and accused Abernathy, her live-in boyfriend, of pushing her and causing her to fall and suffer a hairline fracture to her elbow. The incident occurred in her apartment in the 4300 block of King Street.
Abernathy allegedly declined to meet with police in person, and told them over the phone that he pushed her after she punched him twice, and that she did not fall, according to a search warrant.
The suspect then told police that he would turn himself in after getting a lawyer, but did not do so
Alexandria police officers responding to a domestic situation at a high-rise apartment building Monday night were confronted by a wanted man who allegedly attempted to run over officers as he made good his escape.
Police responded around 7 p.m. to the Foundry Apartments at 2470 Manderville Lane, a couple of blocks from the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station, after a woman called police and said she was concerned about her ex-boyfriend, who reportedly had a knife and broke her phone.
Once inside, officers reported that the man had taken off down the stairwell. Moments later, he hopped into a newer model Honda Pilot in which he used in an attempt to run over an officer who had arrived to assist, according to initial reports.
EMS personnel took the officer to the hospital, though the officer’s injuries were said to be non-life-threatening, according to APD.
Police are looking for the suspect and the black Honda Pilot with Maryland tags he was driving. It may have front-end damage and damage to the passenger-side door from trying to run over the officer.
According to one radio report, the man has an extensive rap sheet including several open warrants.

A 24-year-old Alexandria man is being held without bond after allegedly strangling his girlfriend.
Antar Christmas was arrested on December 8 and charged with domestic assault and battery and impeding blood circulation or respiration of a family/household member. He is being held without bond in the Alexandria jail.
The incident occurred on Dec. 1 in an apartment in the 900 block of Manor Road. A witness heard a woman scream in a nearby apartment, and police met the victim, who said that the suspect had just left with their child, according to a search warrant affidavit.
The victim told police that she was temporarily staying with Christmas, and that they argued after he returned home late. She told police that, after an escalating argument, that he pushed her against a wall, grabbed her throat with both hands and squeezed for approximately two seconds, according to the warrant.
The investigating officer reported not finding any observable injuries on the victim.
When police called Christmas and asked if he would return to his apartment, he reportedly said, “I’m not an idiot,” and hung up. Subsequent calls and texts were ignored, and police petitioned for arrests warrants for strangulation and assault and battery, according to the search warrant.
Police then found that Christmas was suspected of two other domestic assaults from June and August, and had open arrest warrants in Montgomery County and Baltimore County in Maryland.
A 24-year-old Alexandria man was arrested last week and released on bond after allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend with a chain and his fists in Old Town North, according to court records.
Herman Stitt was arrested Aug. 20 and released on bond the same day after allegedly fighting with his ex-girlfriend at her home at Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority property in the 800 block of Montgomery Street in Old Town.
The incident occurred at around midnight on June 23, and police found the victim crying with injuries to her face and right eye, according to a search warrant affidavit.
The victim told police that Stitt pushed her to the ground, possibly knocking her unconscious.
“When she woke up, she stood up and Mr. Stitt proceeded to punch her in the face approximately 10 times with a closed fist,” police reported in the search warrant, adding that the victim claimed Still beat her with a broken-off metal chain from her purse strap. “(The victim’s) injuries included a burst blood vessel in her right eye, cuts on her lips and chin, an abrasion on her right knee and welts across her right shoulder and back, in the shape of a chain.”
Police said that Stitt, who has an extensive criminal record, is a known member of the Alexandria-based Mob 4 Life gang, which is responsible for area violence over the last several years.
