A 29-year-old Arlington man faces a jury trial next month for allegedly robbing and assaulting his disabled ex-girlfriend in her West End apartment.

The suspect has been held without bond in the Alexandria jail since his arrest on February 8.

Virginia State Police announced that Alexandria resident Derrick R. Adjei has been arrested and charged in both a homicide in Richmond and a police pursuit along I-95 that followed.

Adjei is charged with the murder of Kyle Stoner, a local artist and cook who was killed outside of City Dogs restaurant, WTVR reported.

The Alexandria Police Department announced that a local Taekwondo instructor has been arrested and charged with raping a juvenile victim.

“Trulynd Hall, 29, is suspected and charged with Rape – Victim Under 13,” police said in a release. “Mr. Hall is currently being held without bond in the Alexandria Adult Detention Center.”

(Updated 11:30 a.m.) Three arrests have been made in an attempting carjacking in Potomac Yard on Friday that left one dead and another injured.

Police said that Jordan Poteat, an 18-year-old non-city resident, was shot and killed in the incident. Police initially said they believed the car owner shot the carjackers, though later claimed the investigation was ongoing.

A Washington, D.C. man goes to court on Monday (May 16) for allegedly breaking down a door and pointing a gun at a woman’s head in her West End apartment.

The incident occurred on December 8, 2021, in a second floor apartment in the 100 block of S. Reynolds Street. The victim told police that she began to get a weird vibe after hanging out all day with the 26-year-old suspect, who she described as being a lifelong friend, according to a search warrant affidavit.

A woman was injured and an Alexandria man faces multiple charges after an violent domestic dispute in Old Town, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

APD was alerted of people fighting in an apartment in the 1400 block of Princess Street in Old Town at around 3:30 on May 3 (Monday). A 33-year-old female victim suffered a non-life threatening injury after being struck and was transported to the hospital, APD told ALXnow.

A 28-year-old Alexandria man is being held without bond for allegedly using a butcher knife to rob a man in the city’s Arlandria neighborhood.

Terrance Farrington was arrested and charged with using force during a robbery not long after the incident occurred in the 600 block of Notabene Drive on (Tuesday) April 12. The victim told police the robbery occurred as he walked outside his apartment building to throw something away in a dumpster. The suspect allegedly walked up and grabbed gold necklaces from his neck and took his glasses.

A  25-year-old Washington, D.C. man was arrested on March 26 (Saturday) after an assault by mob at William Ramsay Recreation Center (5650 Sanger Avenue).

At around 9:15 p.m., the city’s Department of Emergency Communications got a call of multiple males fighting in the gym of the West End recreation center. When police arrived, a white Chrysler Sebring with Virginia tags attempted to drive away from the scene at “a high rate of speed,” according to a search warrant affidavit. Responding officers blocked the Sebring’s exit and its occupants were detained and questioned.

A Fairfax County man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly punching and slapping his girlfriend and pointing a gun at her head.

The incident occurred on Jan. 30 in the woman’s apartment in the 100 block of Century Drive in the Landmark area. The victim called police and said that her boyfriend, Milek Pittman, punched her in the face and pointed a gun at her head after an argument erupted, according to a search warrant affidavit. Pittman also allegedly damaged a door of the apartment by punching and kicking it.

Two Alexandria juveniles were arrested earlier this month for shooting a gun in Arlandria.

The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue. Police were alerted by a witness that two juveniles shot a handgun in an alleyway and fled on foot. The witness saw the 15 and 17-year-old suspects then run into a nearby apartment building and the lights turn on in an apartment, according to a search warrant.
