Update at 4:40 p.m. — The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and Port City Brewing have both reopened. AWLA will be open for business and adoptions until 7 p.m. The storm-related outage near Inova Alexandria Hospital is still ongoing.

If you felt inspired by the upcoming Bunny Meditation event on Sunday (Nov. 3), there’s a set of rabbits at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) looking for a home.

The shelter is hopping with rabbits right now, according to Gina Hardter, director of marketing and communications for the AWLA. A residence realized they had too many bunnies to care for and had to part with some of them.

Old Town Eatery to Offer Original Menu — “Longtime Old Town Alexandria Italian restaurant Landini Brothers, at 115 King St., is marking its 40th anniversary Oct. 28 by taking diners back to the past. Dogtoberfest, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, is a free event planned in the parking lot of Port City Brewing Company’s brewery at 3950 Wheeler Avenue.
