The adoption event allows folks to name their own adoption fee for the AWLA’s adoptable cats, dogs and small animals in their care.

White and brown American rabbit Coco is sweeter than chocolate, and is up for adoption with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

“American rabbits are known for being sweet, and Coco lives up to that designation,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “That said, her foster caregiver says she can be a bit sassy at times and is comfortable letting her best friends know her real opinions.”

Delilah loves to play fetch more than anything. The three-year-old terrier mix is up for adoption with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and her adoption fees have been pre-paid by a generous donor.

“Delilah is a clever girl who has learned Sit, as well as Drop It (which goes great with her Fetch skills), and she’s pretty sure she has the brains to master several more skills,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “Delilah’s favorite activity in the whole world is Fetch, which she would be happy to play all day long with the right best friend.  She’d also be open to exploring more active endeavors like running or hiking.”

It doesn’t cost anything to adopt Jordan. The 13-month-old brown and white spotted male cat is currently up for adoption with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

“Jordan is a goofy cat who loves flopping all over the place to show off his belly when playing,” said AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter. “He also enjoys rubbing noses with his human foster family.”

Oshkosh, a two-year-old terrier mix up for adoption in Alexandria, is shy… At first. Adoption fees have already been paid for by a generous donor to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, which means that he is ready to go home to a new owner for free.

“Oshkosh is ready and raring to meet his new family,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter said. “Since Oshkosh can be a bit reserved, he’d prefer a quieter household with adults or older children who understand that sometimes dogs want to snuggle and, just like all of us, sometimes they like to have their personal space.”
