Get ready for the annual Spring Fling block party in Old Town Alexandria on May 3, 2025. This neighborhood-wide celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a mix of shopping, activities, and fun for everyone.
Organized by Old Town Boutique Community, the event features a variety of experiences throughout Old Town. You can get your tarot cards read, try your hand at crafts, join an outdoor yoga class, or cool off with a snow cone.
On Tuesday, April 8, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Ben & Jerry’s is throwing its annual Free Cone Day celebration, serving up free scoops of ice cream to fans worldwide. During the much-loved tradition, Ben & Jerry’s aims to spread some joy globally, one ice cream-filled cone at a time.
Last year, fans showed up in record numbers, helping Ben & Jerry’s scoopers nationwide serve over 1 million scoops of free ice cream; if you laid those cones down end to end, it would create an ice cream trail 130 kilometers (80 miles) long! This year, we want to go just as big, giving thanks to our fans with as much joy as possible in the form of chunky, swirly flavors.

The Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden is gearing up for a special event on April 5, 2025. They’re marking 160 years since the Grosvenor Branch Hospital closed its doors, shining a light on the property’s important role during the Civil War.
This historic site wasn’t just any building during the conflict—it was a Union Army hospital where over a thousand soldiers received treatment. Sadly, many didn’t make it out alive. The event coincides with the U.S. Army medicine’s 250th anniversary, giving visitors a chance to learn about medical practices from the Civil War era.
