“Catching Pinecones” – ALX Film Fest Kickoff at Patagonia Old Town

“Catching Pinecones” profiles Jan and Herb Conn, pioneers of the climbing and caving worlds who started out in the D.C. area on crags like Carderock and climbs in Great Falls. Armed with just two pairs of Keds, a loose rope tied around their waists and a bohemian spirit, the Conns made over 230 first ascents. The film screens at 6:30 pm (doors open at 6 pm) at Patagonia Old Town on King Street in Alexandria and will be immediately followed by a Q&A discussion with Director Chad Heddleston.
