One of Northern Virginia’s scariest haunted trails opens THIS WEEKEND!
Haunt: Dark Encounters returns to the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton on Saturday, October 3, taking guests deep into the woods for an immersive Halloween experience built around the mysterious disappearance of five friends in 1996.
Now in its 13th year, the Workhouse Haunt is back with dark wooded trails, professional scare actors, unexpected encounters and plenty of screams.
This isn’t your typical haunted house. This year, the Workhouse is trading theatrical gimmicks for raw, unrelenting tension. Guests are guided through dense woodland to uncover the mystery of five friends who vanished in 1996. It’s immersive, it’s unsettling, and it’s built to make every shadow feel personal.

The Haunt runs October 3–30 on Fridays, Saturdays and select Sundays, with tickets $39 + we have discounts and recommended ages 13+.
