Join Virginia Humanities for a special author talk and book signing with bestselling author Matthew Quick, author of The Silver Linings Playbook, as he discusses his new memoir, Dad, Love, Me: A Memoir.
In his first work of nonfiction, Quick reflects on his relationship with his father through a long-form letter written after his father’s dementia diagnosis. Recounting memories of abuse alongside a journey toward understanding and reconciliation, Dad, Love, Me explores family, memory, forgiveness, mental illness, and the lasting impact of generational trauma.
Presented in partnership with the Alexandria Book Festival and Old Town Books, this program is part of Virginia Humanities’ annual regional events initiative, which brings engaging humanities programming to communities across the commonwealth.
