Alexandria Targets Crash-Prone Intersections — Alexandria is cracking down on serious crashes at several intersections this month. Officials are identifying so-called “crash corridors” in the city using data to figure out where the most serious collisions have occurred. Input Sought on South Van Dorn Street Study — The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback on a STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study assessing potential safety, operational, transit and bicycle/pedestrian improvements along a two-and-a-half mile stretch of South Van Dorn Street (Route 613) between Telegraph Road and the Alexandria city limits, and three-quarters of a mile of Franconia Road between Grovedale Drive and South Van Dorn Street.
