Northern Virginia Magazine released its annual list of the region’s 50 most influential people this morning, with five Alexandria leaders earning recognition for their community impact.

U.S. Sen. Mark Warner was among 10 individuals selected for special recognition with a featured Q&A profile. As Virginia’s senior senator and former governor, Warner serves as vice chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence and sits on several key committees.

Stephanie Landrum, president and CEO of the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, also made the list. Under her leadership, the partnership has facilitated major developments, including Virginia Tech’s new $1 billion campus, which opened earlier this year near the Potomac Yard-VT Metro station.

Lance Collins, vice president at Virginia Tech, earned recognition for leading the university’s Alexandria campus, which enrolled about 455 students for its inaugural spring semester. Collins is working to accelerate the area’s tech economy by training computer science and engineering experts.

Todd O’Leary, CEO of Visit Alexandria, joined the organization in 2024 and now oversees strategic planning for the city, which ranked No. 5 on Travel + Leisure‘s Best Cities in the U.S. list this year.

Rep. Don Beyer earned recognition for his fifth congressional term representing Virginia’s 8th District. As senior House Democrat on the Joint Economic Committee, Beyer has been advocating for the 76,000 federal employees in his district.

The magazine’s editorial team evaluated candidates based on achievements, cultural significance, peer recommendations and community involvement throughout 2025. The complete list is available at northernvirginiamag.com, with the print edition hitting newsstands by Sept. 26.
