The 51-pound brown and white mixed breed is currently available for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, where volunteers describe her as an “easy-going girl” who has moved well past the energetic puppy phase.
“She is well-mannered, loves to go on leashed walks around the neighborhood, and already knows some basic cues,” said Maria Stebbins, an AWLA volunteer, in describing Skylar’s temperament.
Those basic cues include sit, down, and paw — skills that demonstrate Skylar’s intelligence and trainability. The smart dog could easily learn additional commands and would be eager to join families on outdoor adventures, according to her profile.
