Local Woman Hopes to Raise $300,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

When Anna Jaeger was nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year, she couldn’t say no. She lost her brother to leukemia in 2012, and knew she wanted to turn the worst period of her life into something positive. The LLS Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a 10-week, friendly but spirited competition to raise the most money for LLS.

Funds raised help further LLS’ mission to “cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.” When the pandemic altered everything, she knew she had to double down and work harder to hit her goal.

Though she’s on track, during the last weeks of the campaign she needs the community’s support to fund the fight against blood cancers. The campaign runs until July 18. Anna, her husband, four children, and two dogs live in Del Ray.
