Inova Alexandria Hospital Now Treating 20+ Coronavirus Patients

The number of coronavirus patients being treated at Inova Alexandria Hospital is now in the 20s — a far cry from the more than 90 patients at the facility during the peak of the virus.

Still, that doesn’t mean residents should throw caution into the wind, hospital President Dr. Rina Bansal told ALXnow.

“We are in the new normal right so like you said, visitation is not back to normal but in terms of the provision of medical services, we really are striving to be up and running and fully functional,” Bansal said. “I am encouraging people to not be scared of going back to the doctors or to their clinics or to the hospital, and not putting off things that need to be taken care of, because they’re fearful of COVID.”

The Inova Health Care system is now offering free telemedicine and screening through its Inova Cares Clinic for Families at 4700 King Street.

There are now 2,186 cases and 48 fatalities due to COVID-19 in Alexandria, and while the number of cases continues to increase, the spread of the virus has slowed dramatically over the course of the last month, according to the Virginia Department of Health.

“Now that Northern Virginia is in Phase Two of the Forward Virginia blueprint, it is important to note that there is still community transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19 and everyone is safest at home,” to city said in a news release. “This is especially true for persons at higher risk for severe illness, including those over the age of 65 and those with underlying medical conditions.”

Bansal advised that residents should continue washing their hands, socially distancing and wearing face masks.

“I don’t think that message is going to change until there’s a vaccine out there,” she said.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
