Alexandria is gunning for its eighth consecutive top ranking in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards. The city is up for nomination in the “Cities” category, hoping to keep its place among the “Best Small Cities in the U.S.”
Allison O’Keefe, PR and Communications Manager at Visit Alexandria, is drumming up community support to keep the city’s high standing.
“Alexandria has been in the top 5 ‘Best Small Cities in the U.S.’ for seven years running, since they created the subcategory in 2018. We bounced back into the top 3 in 2023,” O’Keefe said. “We need your help to hang onto that top 3 spot this year!”
Anyone who’s lived in or visited Alexandria can vote until June 30, 2025, at cntraveler.com/vote. They’re asking people to rate Alexandria as “excellent” across the board and share what made them want to visit. Individuals can vote only once per email address.
The survey also offers the opportunity to support several Alexandria hotels, like The Alexandrian, Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, Hilton Alexandria Old Town, Hotel AKA Alexandria, Hotel Heron, Hyatt Centric Old Town, Lorien Hotel & Spa (now Archer Hotel), and Morrison House.
O’Keefe added, “Your vote has a big impact and can help Alexandria move to the top of Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘Best Small Cities’ list, just as our community’s votes have helped us secure a top-five spot on the list for the past seven years. Consistent high-profile rankings in top national travel publications like Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and Southern Living help solidify and elevate the city’s positioning as a top destination.
A bonus to participating? By taking part in the survey, you’ll be given a chance to win an eight-day trip along the Rhine, including calls at Amsterdam, Cologne and Basel, with Viking Cruises.
