This one will be niche, even for ALXnow readers, but: a new update to Microsoft Flight Simulator has included a much needed visual upgrade for Alexandria.
The game, which allows armchair pilots to visit any location on the planet, previously had a very barebones version of Alexandria, with little more than square blocks to denote local buildings.
The new update brings the city to the game with a much greater degree of detail across the city. The update includes Alexandria as part of an overhaul to the region, which includes improvements to Washington D.C. and other cities further north along the east coast.
“City Update IX highlights select locations throughout the northeastern United States with updated aerial imagery, new digital elevation models, and TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing,” Microsoft said in a release.
There’s no word yet on an update to include realistic complaints about flying over Alexandria homes.
