Three years after ACPS converted a West End office building into Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School, the school system is looking to make a similar move into a neighboring office building.
At tonight’s City Council meeting, the Council will consider funding for the purchase of 1703 North Beauregard, an office building directly across from Ferdinand T. Day.
According to Mayor Justin Wilson, the new school would initially be used for swing space, but will eventually become a new school.
Tomorrow, Council will be discussing the allocation of $17.9M to fund the @ACPSk12 purchase of 1703 N. Beauregard, next to @FerdinandTDayES

This purchase would facilitate swing space for the rebuild of George Mason Elementary School and Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology in advance of becoming a new school itself.
The new aquisition is one of a few changes coming to the office-park turned school block: the school system is also in the process of creating a new elevated gym for the school over the street.
