The Alexandria Police Department is seeking a suspect after a stabbing early Tuesday (Sept. 15) in Arlandria.
Around 3:20 a.m., police believe an unknown man approached a man sleeping on the ground near the Tiger Market parking lot (3903 Mount Vernon Avenue) and stabbed him multiple times. EMS requested officers to respond around 4:08 a.m. for “unknown trouble,” and the victim reported that the stabbing happened an hour or two prior.
APD did not disclose the severity of the victim’s injuries but is investigating the stabbing as a felony aggravated malicious wounding.
The suspect fled on foot on Mount Vernon Avenue and continued onto Executive Avenue toward W. Glebe Road. He was described as an adult man between 20 and 30 years old around 180 pounds with long dark hair and a fair complexion. APD is seeking the public’s help to identify the suspect.
