A woman was stabbed in an apartment in Alexandria’s West End early Wednesday morning (July 22).
The Alexandria Police Department responded around 2:26 a.m. to a domestic-related stabbing at the Newport Village Apartments in the 4800 block of W. Braddock Road. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, Junique Morris, 42, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.
“The incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known ongoing threat to the community,” APD said in a release. “Detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing the scene for evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.”
This was the second stabbing incident in the city within hours. In an unrelated incident around 8:30 p.m., a man was stabbed in the neck near the Braddock Road Metro station.
