Alexandria Fire Department extinguishes early Sunday kitchen fire in Seminary Hill

No injuries were reported after firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire early Sunday morning in the Seminary Hill area.

The Alexandria Fire Department extinguished the blaze at a single-family home in the 200 block of N. Gordon Street at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to IAFF Local 2141.

Engine 207 and Tower 203 responded to the scene and saw smoke coming out of the front door before extinguishing the fire in the kitchen. Per dispatches, no injuries were reported from the three residents who were at the scene.

The kitchen fire was one of a series of residential fires AFD helped extinguish over the weekend, with no injuries reported across the board.

Later on Sunday morning, AFD’s Tower 203 and Battalion 202 helped extinguish a house fire in Springfield alongside the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Investigators are determining the cause of the fire, according to the union.

The department also responded to an apartment fire in the Landmark area last Friday night, quickly extinguishing flames in a building’s utility closet at the 200 block of S. Reynolds Street.
