Benny DiForza’s Pizza, which opened in Del Ray in February 2024, has been served with a legal notice barring access to its Mount Vernon Avenue location, according to signage posted on the restaurant’s door.
The notice of no trespass, dated Oct. 26, was filed by a petitioner and is addressed to “Benny’s, its agents, owners, employees” at 1504B Mount Vernon Avenue.
The notice forbids anyone from entering the property and cites Virginia Code § 18.2-119 (1950 amended), which makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor for unauthorized persons to remain on premises after being forbidden to do so by the owner or landlord.
A handwritten note on yellow paper visible in the window reads “Benny’s is CLOSED for Business.”

As of Monday afternoon, Benny DiForza’s website and social media accounts had not been updated to reflect any changes in operations.
The pizzeria opened in the former home of Sicilian Pizza in February 2024. At the time, manager Hayden Ko said the location employed 15 people. The restaurant was known for its signature 28-inch pies, with slices priced at $5 to $6.50 each.
Benny DiForza’s is one of approximately 35 Benny’s Pizza franchise locations across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wyoming. Each location operates under a different Italian surname. The Del Ray location used “DiForza’s,” which translates to “of strength.”

The legal notice does not specify the reason for the action. The document remains in effect until the petitioner withdraws it or a court renders it invalid.
The Benny’s Pizza corporate website continues to list Benny DiForza’s among its Virginia locations.
