Fright and fun is returning to Del Ray, as the James M. Duncan Branch Library (2501 Commonwealth Avenue) has been transformed into a haunted house.

On Oct. 24 (Friday) and 25 (Saturday), the annual Duncan Haunted Library will feature spooky tours, spine-tingling ghost stories and more. Tickets cost $10 and proceeds go toward new books, community programs and other special library events.

This year, everyone on the tour must be accompanied by an adult. There will also be tours for kids 16+, with “extra scares,” according to the Friends of Duncan Library. Special haunted moments will also be captured in the Mount Vernon Community School’s “Spooky CaBOOse photo booth.”

There will also be a Mount Vernon Community School PTA Pumpkin Patch on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. on the playground adjacent to the library.

The event is hosted by the Friends of Duncan Library and the Del Ray Citizens Association.
