Magpie Reclamations, a sustainable furniture and home décor shop, announced last week that it will close its Del Ray storefront and relocate to Urban Redeux in Fairfax County this winter.
The vintage furniture retailer posted on social media Tuesday that its store at 202 E. Custis Ave. will close after two years in the neighborhood. The last day of regular store hours is scheduled for Nov. 16.
Starting Dec. 1, customers can find Magpie’s curated collection at Urban Redeux, located at 7916 Fort Hunt Rd. in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center. The partnership will feature Magpie furniture alongside Urban Redeux’s existing inventory.
“Transitions are at the core of what we do at Magpie Reclamations,” the company wrote in its announcement. “We are a waypoint of transition.”
The Washington-based company specializes in upcycling furniture and home accessories, focusing on sustainable home décor. Owner Willow and the Urban Redeux team will operate the combined space Wednesday through Sunday, with hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. most days and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Magpie Reclamations will continue online sales through its website and Instagram, as well as furniture refinishing services. The company also operates a separate junk removal and home clearout business.
The store thanked Del Ray customers for their support over the past two years and said they would continue serving the Alexandria community from the new location.
