ALX Community is hosting its second ALX Pink Gala in Old Town next month, with proceeds benefiting the National Breast Center Foundation.

The gala will be held at ALX Community’s Atrium location (277 S. Washington Street) on Friday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets range in price from $100 for general admission to $150 for VIPs, the latter of which grants access to an exclusive rooftop experience, according to event organizers.

Kelly Grant, Chief Operating Officer of ALX Community, stated that the price of admission covers the cost of a mammogram.

“Too many families in our region are impacted by late-stage breast cancer diagnoses because women don’t have access to the screenings and care they need,” Grant said. “The ALX Pink Gala is a celebration of hope, community, and action – and every ticket sold directly supports our mission to save lives. All ticket proceeds and donations will be going toward buying mammograms for more women in our area.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The evening will feature a silent auction, food and drinks, live music, dancing, and more. Sponsorships are still available for the event.

According to ALX Community:

This highly anticipated fundraising event supports NBCF’s mission of expanding access to lifesaving mammograms, diagnostics, and treatments for women and men in the greater DC area. For the past decade, the National Breast Cancer Foundation has provided these critical services at no cost, ensuring care is available regardless of income, insurance status, or background.

On Sunday, Oct. 19, ALX Community will also participate in the 10th annual National Breast Center’s Walk to Bust Cancer at Fort Hunt Park.
