Housing Alexandria is hosting a “laid-back gala” next month with music, games and food.

This year, the annual fundraising event will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Garden Alexandria (5380 Eisenhower Avenue) and will celebrate the nonprofit’s completion of the Cardinal Path Homes project. The project provides 36 townhomes and condos to first-time homebuyers, available via lottery.

“We are incredibly proud of the Cardinal Path Homes project and the transformative impact it will have on our community,” said Jon Frederick, president and CEO of Housing Alexandria. “This year’s Fall Festival is not just a celebration of our work, but a testament to the community’s unwavering support for our mission. Our affordable housing programs enable individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, including educators, nurses, and law enforcement personnel, to live and thrive in the very community they serve.”

Tickets for the event cost $10 for students and $60 for adults.

“All proceeds directly support Housing Alexandria’s mission to create and preserve quality, affordable homes and community-focused spaces,” Housing Alexandria said in a press release. “This includes vital resident services like community gardens, which provide residents with healthy food and a space for community building.”

According to Housing Alexandria:

  • The festival is a family-friendly event, offering an evening of food, drinks, games, music, and a raffle, as well as a live performance by Alexandria Symphony Orchestra’s youth orchestra, Sympatico.
  • Port City Brewery of Alexandria, Virginia and food trucks will be available like Hangry Panda, Minas Tamales, Mac Donut, Lost Boy Cider and Boba Blass.

The fall festival is sponsored by Whiting-Turner, Amazon, Advanced Project Management Inc., Walter Phillips, Clarke and Sampson, JBG Smith/LEO, Reno & Cavanaugh, SL Nusbaum Realty Co., Virginia Housing, John Marshall Bank, and LandDesign.
