Alexandria residents have dozens of entertainment and community options this week, with programming ranging from library activities and farmers markets to two major beer-focused events anchoring Saturday’s lineup.
The week begins Monday with senior bingo and blood drives at local libraries, while evening venues like Port City Brewing Company and Daniel O’Connell’s host live music. Tuesday brings BeerYoga and improv comedy at Aslin ALX, continuing diverse programming across the city.
Mid-week highlights include health services on Wednesday with a DEXA scan van at Revolutionary Fitness, followed by animal encounters at the central library and sushi-cider pairing at Lost Boy Cider. Thursday features the Old Town North Farmers’ Market and multiple trivia competitions.
Saturday promises the week’s biggest draws with two simultaneous beer events. The Del Ray Business Association will host its fifth annual Bands & Brews bar crawl from 12:30 to 6 p.m., featuring live music at more than 20 Mount Vernon Avenue restaurants to benefit literacy nonprofit InspireLit. Advance tickets cost $20.
Port City Brewing Company will simultaneously host its second annual Port to Port Beer Festival from noon to 4 p.m., featuring 19 breweries from across the United States and Germany.
The weekend also includes dual farmers markets in Old Town and Del Ray Saturday morning, plus chamber music at the Lyceum Sunday afternoon.
