A nonprofit serving Arlandria’s Latino community is trying to raise $250,000 by Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Casa Chirilagua (4109 Mount Vernon Avenue) launched its Summer Challenge Campaign today to fund its programming, serving over 400 people.

The nonprofit raised $167,488 and topped the leaderboard in this year’s Spring2ACTion fundraiser. Casa Chirilagua also raised $90,410 in the 2024 year’s Spring2ACTion fundraiser, and $167,974 in 2023.

“Together, we’re aiming to raise at least $250,000 to support families, fuel transformation, and spread hope—and your role is vital,” Casa Chirilagua said in an email.

In a video (see below), Casa Chirilagua Executive Director Hjarman Cordero asks for donations, volunteers, and more connections to the friends and families of Casa Chirilagua supporters.

Donations can be made on the Casa Chirilagua website.
