🚨 You need to know

The city of Alexandria is asking residents to help shape the historical displays planned for its renovated City Hall through an online survey, which closes on August 29.

The fifth community engagement series focuses on storytelling themes for exhibits in City Hall and Market Square. Officials are seeking public input on topics ranging from Alexandria’s founding to its neighborhoods and community identities.

The current City Hall, built in 1871, houses more than 300 city employees. The renovation addresses aging building components, security improvements, and space optimization, according to the city’s website, updated July 14.

City officials said the project aims to create displays that reflect Alexandria’s past, present, and future while enhancing community engagement in the historic building.

Residents can participate in the survey to guide decisions about which stories will be featured and how visitors will experience the exhibits in the renovated spaces.
