Grammy nominee Steven Cade to perform at Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria

Country music artist Steven Cade will bring his Giving Guitars Tour to Alexandria next week, performing at Carpenter’s Shelter while donating a guitar to inspire residents experiencing homelessness.

The Grammy-nominated musician will visit Carpenter’s Shelter’s The Hoffman Center at 930 N. Henry St. on July 10 at 3:30 p.m. for a live performance and guitar donation as part of his nationwide charitable initiative. That evening, Cade will perform at the Vine Alley in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

“Music changes lives and the guitar is such a powerful tool,” Cade said. “Music is healing and allows you to express your stories and brings joy.”

The Nashville-based artist has made supporting homeless communities a cornerstone of his career, visiting shelters across the country that serve families, youth, and individuals experiencing homelessness, including foster and at-risk youth. Through his Giving Guitars Tour, Cade has visited over 135 organizations in 22 states across three countries and donated more than 250 new guitars.

Cade, who was awarded Modern Country Artist of the Year at the Grand Ole Opry and has been considered for 15 Grammy nominations, has shared stages with major country stars including Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood. The California Music Hall of Fame inductee is currently touring to promote his new single “Fall For You.”

Carpenter’s Shelter, which serves more than 900 homeless and formerly homeless individuals annually, supports people experiencing homelessness through shelter, housing placement, guidance, education and advocacy. The organization’s goal is transitioning clients to permanent, affordable housing.
